Love that XM Satellite Radio in your car, love it in your home too
I do not think that anybody will disagree with me when I say that XM satellite Radio is great when you are driving in your car. No more are we subjected to endless onslaughts of commercials that can really bore a driver to near-death. Thankfully there are ways around the ear-sufferings that we used bear the brunt of. I can happily say that ever since I bought an XM Audiovox XpressR radio for my car and had it installed, I have been freed – so to speak – of the traditional radio slop.
However, this has presented me with a newer problem, and that is, not being able to listen to the XM radio I grown so fond of at home. But after perusing the web and looking for a solution to my problem, I have actually found an inexpensive way to enjoy the hundreds of stations I adore, while at home. The best part is that I found out I do not have to pay an extra subscription fee to get XM satellite radio at home. And, better yet, the Audiovox Universal Xpress Home Kit that I found is relatively cheap, and is universal—so no matter what Audiovox XM Receiver you have, it should allow you take it inside the homestead.
Installation I found was actually rather simple. The hardest part was mounting the antenna, but the hinged mounting base (included) allowed me to find the ideal position for the antenna inside, so I could get the best reception possible. Everything fits snug into the docking cradle, so I can actually see the receiver and scan channels, and it fits right on top of my entertainment center. Sure there are other receivers and kits that I could have bought, such as the Delphi Roady XT and Home Kit, which does come a bit cheaper for those of us who are on a tight budget. But I choose to go with the Audiovox Xpress R and Home Kit, due to the good warranty, extensive features and most importantly the ease of installation.
Within minutes of getting home with my new Audiovox Universal Home Kit, I had the XM radio at home up and running. Now I can enjoy the same stations that I have grown to love while in transit at home. No more will I ever be subjected to crappy, commercial ridden, basic radio again. It’s like cable TV, but for radio. And being an avid fan of cable TV, I must say that I feel exactly the same for XM radio at home.
